If you are still on the hunt for the perfect Christmas gift for someone who loves beauty products then I have some ideas for you. The products I’m recommending today are all products that I own so I know they are great quality and will make for a lovely gift.
I have written a couple or reviews on Furless products but I have more lined up to review in the new year too. I found Furless because I was looking for the perfect gift for a vegan beauty lover a couple of years ago, and Furless looked like a great brand to support. They are a cruelty free Australian brand that produce makeup brushes, eye pigments and nail polish. People rave about the Furless brushes for good reason, they are the best brushes I have – and I am a brush junkie. Every day I use the brushes from the Couture Base Essentials Kit ($89.99) for my foundation, concealer and any cream products. The Couture Body Contour Kit ($99.99) is perfect for any powder products I use like setting powder, blush, contour and highlight. The Couture Kits are my favorite but they are on the pricey side for 4 brushes, thankfully Furless also make 3 travel brush kits ($89.99 each), that each contain 8 brushes and come with a very handy faux leather case for travel. I have the whole Purple Power Makeup Brush Set and I also bought some of the brushes from the Black Beauty Set as you they are also sold separately. They are all great quality and the brush case is the best I have in my collection. I bought the whole Black Beauty Makeup Brush Set as a present and it is well loved. Each coloured set has different brushes so read the product description before you buy the Black, Pink or Purple Set, however all are great kits. This week I also received the Must Have Professional Brush Set from the lovely Coralie at Furless (she is so incredibly kind to me). I was amazed when I opened the kit. It has every brush I could possibly need, they all feel amazing and come in the professional brush roll. Obviously, I’m not a professional but I am going to love using this kit. If you are trying to find a gift for an avid beauty collector/lover then this set will be perfect. Furless also sell nail polish which are great to add to a present, you can see my reviews of the bright colours and autumn colours. They also have pigments now too that have amazing colour pay off. I have an affiliate link for Furless which you can use if you choose o purchase from them (it doesn’t cost you any extra) and you can use the discount code 15ME at the same time for 15% off your order. You don’t have to use the link, you can google the brand. I recommend Furless to everyone and very few use my link as they forget, so I don’t love this brand because I have a link, instead I have the link because I really love and believe in this brand. I use these brushes all the time and have washed them over and over again without any problems. Anything from Furless is a great gift to give to anyone who loves beauty products.
Another cruelty free Australian beauty brand that I love is Eye Of Horus Cosmetics. My favourite eyeliners are the Eye Of Horus Goddess Pencils as they go on smoothly and last forever on my watery eyes. I love the nude (Sahara Nude), brown (Nubian Brown) and black (Smokey Eye). However, I went into my local stockist and swatched all the colours so that you can see them all. Eye Of Horus also sell great liquid eye lines called Liquid Define and they come in Black and Babylon Brown. If the person you are buying for is creative with their makeup then you could also buy the Liquid Metal eye liners that come in Alchemy Gold, Ancient Pewter, Copper Sphinx and Imperial Bronze.
This time last year, I posted about how Target became a stockist for both theBalm and Sleek Cosmetics. Each year, theBalm bring out a limited edition palette called The Manizer Sisters. It includes the their three Luminizers called Betty-Lou Manizer, Cindy-Lou Manizer and the cult favourite, Mary-Lou Manizer. Each product can be used on both the eyes and face so it is very versatile. I actually prefer my palette to my single pan of Mary Lou Manizer as the single packaging makes them very prone to breaking which I haven’t had a problem with in the palette. Both theBalm and Sleek sell eyeshadow palettes too which are great gift ideas. Both brands are really popular at Target so there often isn’t a lot of stock so you just have to see what is at your local store. You can also get theBalm from David Jones and I recently bought the Meet Matte Hughes set of 6 mini long lasting liquid lipsticks from there as present – you can see my review of the full sizes here.
Hourglass cosmetics have what many consider to be the best blushes on the market. They are pricey, selling at $55 each at Mecca, but they are so worth it. I own the Ambient Lighting Blush in Ethereal Glow and it is a gorgeous colour on my very fair skin. I love the formula so much that I put some of the other shades on my wishlist this year. The marbled design, sleek packaging and amazing quality make it a great gift to give.
Skincare is essential to any beauty routine as makeup will always look better on a nice base. Trilogy are one of my favourite skincare brands as they focus on good quality ingredients which do wonders for my sensitive skin. They have launched a few different skincare kits that include minis of their products which is a great way to try them before getting full sized versions. They have the Repair and Protect Gift Set with Rosapene ($49.95), Radiance and Recovery Gift Set ($54.95), Bare Faced Beauty Kit ($24.95), Normal/Dry Skin Starter Set ($26.95), Combination/Oily Starter Set ($26.95) and the Rosehip Collection ($34.95). If you don’t know what skin type they have or their skins needs, the Bare Faced Beauty Kit will suit everyone as it contains the Makeup Be Gone Cleansing balm (review here), Hydrating Mist Toner and Rosehip Oil Antioxidant +. You can buy them online on the Trilogy website, or in store at Priceline and MYER.
If your giftee loves nail polish then I recommend you buy them some Australian Indie nail polish as the finishes and colours are unlike anything you can get in store. I say once you go indie you never go back. You can find all the Aussie Indie websites in my blog post called Guide To Australian Indie Nail Polish but don’t wait too long to order as mail is slow at Christmas time.
I spoilt myself recently and bought two of the Kat Von D Beauty Limited Edition Studded Kiss Lipsticks in Mother and Double Dare. I love the formula of these lipsticks as they are long lasting but they don’t leave my lips really dry. The limited edition shades come in studded gunmetal packaging, which to me looks even better than the core range (black studded packaging). In saying that, I have quite a few of the normal Studded Kiss Lipsticks on my wishlist now. I have also heard great things about the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks so I am going to have to try some of those soon too. I think a product from either of those lipstick ranges would be lovely to receive and if you check out Kat Von D Beauty on Sephora (affiliate link), you will see some cute gift sets like the Bow N Arrow Duo ($31), Everlasting Mini Liquid Lips Set ($75), Black Magic Lip and Liner Duo ($31) and Everlasting Lip Duo: Contour Edition ($28). Kat Von D are a cruelty free brand and have a lot of vegan options, including all the Studded Kiss and Everlasting lipstick colours. Over a year ago, Kat Von D announced that the whole line would be made vegan but that could still be some time off.
If you are happen to be celebrating after the 25th then you could have the time to order from international stores like Colourpop Cosmetics. You may have already seen my reviews on the Colourpop Highlighters and the Ultra Satin Lips, where I explained that I like the quality of those products and the low prices. Colourpop have recently launched some charity eyeshadow shades where all the proceeds go towards Best Friends Animal Society. They have Puppy Love (same shade as last year) that is a soft peach with pink and gold duo chrome in a pearlized finish and Cat Nap which is an icy rose gold drizzled with pink and silver glitter in a metallic finish. Both shades are $5 usd and you get free shipping to Aus when you spend $50 usd but only until the new year.
