Kylie (@ladyoflacquer on Instagram) has started a Mani Marathon. Every 2 days a new person does a mani and everyone tries to recreate it. I haven’t had a chance to recreate any yet, but I’ve had my turn as a designer. I’ve had this design in my head for ages but haven’t had a chance to do it yet. I used Powder Perfect Aquitaine as a base because it’s the same colour as OPI My Vampire is Buff but has a better formula. Please note: this post was written before I became cruelty free and therefore I mention non cruelty free products – OPI.

Macro in light box – Polka.com is very pretty

After the Powder Perfect base, I applied OPI Polka.com to all nails but the ring finger. On the ring finger, I used a wavy nail vinyl from Vinyl Boutique and OPI Suzi’s Hungary Again and Can’t Find My Czechbook on either side of it. I made sure Aquitaine was dry before doing this. Using HK Girl Top Coat between layers speeds up the process. This is what I used as my design because I didn’t like how it looked when I added to it.

I added OPI Don’t Touch My Tutu to all nails but the ring finger. I liked how this looked in person but it didn’t look great in photos. You can see all the designers on Instagram using #manimarathondesigner and all the recreations using #manimarathonrecreation. It’s a lovely supportive group of ladies doing it, so don’t feel bad if you are just a beginner like me 🙂
